Creating an Environment
for Growth
By transmitting the values required for full-scale
DEI programs to thrive and evolve through the
four pillars/lenses of an organization's structure,
individuals and the way they perform their roles
become part of (and contributors to) an environ-
ment of growth. Programs ranging from attracting
and hiring diverse candidates in order to focus
development of underserved employee groups
to ensuring greater equity in career opportunities
are a part of ongoing learning and practices that
eventually bring wholesale change.
In addition to programmatic
considerations, organizations
need to have systems in place
to facilitate DEI initiatives.
Utilizing technology, governance practices (such
as diversity councils to manage enterprise-wide
efforts), and oversite tools to measure progress,
make adjustments and ensure readiness to adapt
to change and new challenges establish system
supports that make a continuous, holistic DEI
vision possible.
