Doing so addresses a critical business problem while establish- ing a foundation for diverse recruiting going forward. Despite the benefits, less than 50% of organizations have a plan to ensure DEI recruiting processes. 1 Developing a strong and deep leadership pool is similarly enabled by targeted development programs aimed at diverse groups of employees. Effective hiring approaches include a range of activities, the most important of which is to ensure biases do not enter the hiring process. Anonymous screening addresses even the most conscientious efforts by eliminating evidence of age, gender, race and education and focusing purely on capabilities. Many organizations take a long-term approach to building their DEI programs with the help of the community. Roughly 38% of orgs build relationships to recruit from associations, groups, educational institutions and government entities associated with underserved talent communities. 2 Campus recruiting programs and community outreach efforts to build awareness of their industry and their company's values builds trust within various communities and serves as a foundation to shape a diverse pipeline well into the future.
