You are almost halfway through the year! Do you feel
like it is time for a reset? In these next 3 weeks take
the time to reset, reorganize and refuel to have a
productive second half. Don't forget if you are feeling
like a reset is much welcomed by now, those around
you are probably feeling the same.
Let's face it, at the end of the day we are human and
our lives ebb and flow, as does our engagement with
the work that we do. Take this opportunity to reevaluate
where you are with your level of engagement.
Time, your most precious resource. Everyday is an
opportunity to progress but if you spend more time
putting out fires then you risk approaching a stand
still. Take the time to learn methodologies that will help
prevent you from moving forward.
Being a leader doesn't absolve you from acting
effectively on a team. Your peers and colleagues
need you just as much as your very own team. A good
teammate is someone who is supportive, reliable, and
willing to work together to achieve a common goal.
However, that could vary slightly depending on your
values and organizational culture. Take time to closely
define what it means to act effectively on a team
where you work.
Having organizational skills is important because
it helps us stay focused and manage our time
more efficiently, allowing us to achieve our goals
more quickly. Disorganization can cause havoc
subconsciously and consequently cause us to delay
on the things that are most important. Value this
foundational skill and watch your productivity grow!
Whether you thrive in conflict situations or rather
run away at the sound of just the word, there is one
valuable skill we can all benefit from no matter what
side of the fence. Silence, if you allow it, can be a space
to develop responses and not reactions, or process
feelings. Learn the value of silence and how to apply it
next time you find yourself in the presence of conflict.
