About the author Donald Taylor began his working life program- ming PDP-11 computers in 1981. He has since pursued almost every role in the learning and development field, from classroom delivery to chairman of the board. Based in London, he has lived and travelled extensively outside the UK and travels regularly internationally to consult and speak about workplace learning. Chairman of the Learning and Performance Institute from 2010 to 2021, he now focuses on research, writing and chairing the London Learn- ing Technologies Conference, Europe's largest conference of its type, which he has done since 2000. He is increasingly involved with supporting and advising start-ups in the EdTech space, and chairs the Workforce Development network for London-based seed fund investors Emerge Education. Donald H Taylor He is the author of Learning Technologies in the Workplace (Kogan Page, May 2017), which explores the four common characteristics of teams successfully implementing learning technologies and suggests a six-step method for high-impact implementations. In 2016 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Middlesex University for his services to work- place learning and development. He was also the 2007 recipient of the Colin Corder award for services to training and is a graduate of Oxford University.
